Mel hosts a range of art workshops for adults and kids, from relaxed one-off sessions to intensive masterclasses. Most of my teaching centres on oil painting — covering landscapes, portraits, and everything in between — with a focus on building strong fundamentals: drawing and proportion, colour harmony, blocking in, and techniques like alla prima (wet-on-wet) painting. Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or you're an experienced painter looking to refine your technique, my workshops are designed to meet you where you are and help you grow as an artist.

I'm delighted to share my next exhibition, Creators and Connoisseurs, in collaboration with Tonon Vineyard & Winery in Carmel.
The new work focuses on wine making and drinking, and the joy of living in the Carmel and Bickley wine region. Alongside it, I'm showing retrospective works: landscapes, portraits, stories and places.
